3. How we collect information
We may collect information directly from you when you visit the website, make a purchase, complete a form, book or attend a service, join an online session, subscribe to emails or contact us. We may also receive information from service providers that help us operate, such as booking, payment, email, website-hosting, video-conferencing and delivery providers.
4. Why we collect and use it
To respond to enquiries and provide yoga classes, private sessions, workshops, mentoring, recordings, books and related services.
To process bookings, payments, deliveries, refunds and account credits.
To support safe participation and respond appropriately if a health or safety concern arises.
To communicate operational information, including confirmations, access links, schedule changes and expiry reminders.
To improve our website, offerings and customer experience.
To send marketing where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law. You may unsubscribe at any time.
To meet legal, accounting, insurance, safety and record-keeping obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
5. Health and sensitive information
We collect health or other sensitive information only when it is reasonably needed for safe participation or the service requested, and with your consent or as otherwise permitted by law. Please provide only information relevant to your participation. This information is used for safety and service delivery and is not used for unrelated marketing.
6. Payments
Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider such as Stripe. We generally do not receive or retain complete payment-card details. The provider handles payment information under its own privacy terms and security practices.
7. Disclosure to service providers
We may disclose necessary information to trusted providers that help us deliver our services, including website and hosting providers, booking and calendar platforms, payment processors, email-marketing platforms, Zoom or another video-conferencing provider, cloud storage and file-hosting services, delivery carriers, accountants, insurers, professional advisers and technology support providers.
We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, in an emergency involving health or safety, or with your consent. We do not sell personal information.
8. Overseas handling
Some technology providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States or other countries in which their systems or subcontractors operate. Overseas privacy protections may differ from Australian protections. We take reasonable steps when selecting and using providers, but their handling is also governed by their own privacy terms.
9. Online classes and recordings
Online sessions may be recorded when this is disclosed before or at booking. Depending on the session layout, a recording may capture participants’ names, images, voices, chat contributions or other participation. The separate Online Class and Recording Consent explains the choices available to participants and the permitted use of recordings.
10. Cookies and analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies needed for site operation, security, preferences, analytics, embedded content or marketing. Browser settings can be used to block or delete cookies, although some features may then work differently. Where required, we will request cookie consent through the website.
11. Security and retention
We take reasonable administrative, technical and physical steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No online system is completely secure.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including service, legal, tax, insurance and dispute-resolution requirements. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it.
12. Access and correction
You may ask to access personal information we hold about you or request a correction by emailing satnaam@adinampreetyoga.com. We may need to verify your identity. If an applicable law permits us to refuse a request, we will explain the reason where required.
13. Privacy concerns
Please send privacy questions or complaints to satnaam@adinampreetyoga.com. We will acknowledge and investigate a complaint within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied and the Privacy Act applies, you may be entitled to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, services or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on the website with its effective date.
This is a practical business policy based on information provided for Adi Nampreet Yoga. It is not a substitute for legal advice. An Australian solicitor should review policies before relying on them for specialised circumstances.
